Fatal Shooting Investigation at 9910 Harwin Drive

Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a male at 9910 Harwin Drive about 4 a.m. on Sunday (August 25).

The identity of the victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. Burton reported:

A disturbance occurred in the parking lot of an after-hours club at the above address.  As he drove west on Harwin, the victim exchanged words with an unknown male standing in the parking lot of the club.  As the victim fled westbound on Harwin, the male got into a brown or black SUV, driven by another unknown male.  The SUV followed the victim to the 3800 block of South Gessner Road where the person(s) inside the SUV fired shots at the fleeing victim, striking him at least one time.  The victim fled in his vehicle to a nearby gas station.  He was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

The suspects are described only as two black males.

A female victim, 33, not believed to be involved in the shooting, heard gunshots as she left the club and fled on foot toward her car on the other side of Harwin.  She was struck by a gold Volkswagen Jetta, that did not stop and fled the scene.  The female was transported to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital with broken bones.

Investigators determined the deceased shooting victim was the driver of the Volkswagen that struck the female and fled, eventually driving to a nearby gas station.
