| Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the death of a woman found at 2625 Bennington Street about 11 a.m. on October 27.
The suspect, Jimmy Lee Emanuel (b/m, 47), is charged with murder in the 230th State District Court. He is accused in the death of Valarie K. Jones, 38, of Houston.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives M. Perez and A. Barr reported:
HPD officers received information that the body of a known missing person was buried on the grounds of a business at the above address. Officers searched the area and found a suspicious mound of dirt with tree limbs piled on top of it. The dirt and limbs were removed and the body was found. An autopsy by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences positively identified the person as Valarie K. Jones, who had been reported missing to the Lago Vista Police Department in Lago Vista, Texas on September 16, 2017
Further investigation identified Jimmy Emanuel as a suspect in this case and he was subsequently charged. He was taken into custody without incident today (November 2).
