Suspect Arrested, Charged in Shooting of Man at 1026 Donovan

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the shooting of a man at 1026 West Donovan about 5:40 p.m. last Friday (Aug. 11).

The suspect, Christopher Allen (b/m, 29), is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 208th State District Court.  A photo of Allen is not available for release at this time.

The victim, Christopher Thomas, 20, was transported to an area hospital where doctors said he was expected to survive his injuries.

HPD Homicide Division Officers M. Dykens and J. Fay reported:

A male suspect approached the back door of Mr. Thomas’ home at the above address.  When Thomas opened the door, the suspect immediately fired multiple shots, striking Thomas.  The suspect then fled the scene.

Further investigation led to the identification of Allen as the suspect in this case and, on Saturday (Aug. 12) about 1:30 a.m., he turned himself in to officers at the HPD Northeast Patrol Station.
