Suspect Arrested, Charged in Shooting at 7202 Jensen

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the shooting of a man at 7202 Jensen Drive about 10 p.m. on Wednesday (January 31).

The suspect, Rubin David Carrasquillo (P/m, 26), is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and felon in possession of a firearm in the 179th State District Court.  He is accused in the shooting of Paul Fruge 44, who was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.

HPD Major Assaults Unit Officers R. Watson and J. Hasley reported:

Mr. Fruge and Carrasquillo entered Carrasquillo's apartment at the above address.  At some point, Carrasquillo shot Fruge one time in the chest.  HFD paramedics arrived and transported Fruge to the hospital.  Carrasquillo was then into custody at the scene by responding HPD officers.
