A Celebration of Good Deeds in the Air and on the Ground

-- In Celebration of Giving Tuesday JetBlue to Give to the Houston Public Library Through Their #CheckinForGood Program--

WHAT:          Giving Tuesday is a national day for giving back to the                                          community and that’s why JetBlue is launching its #CheckinForGood. As part of their month-long philanthropy they will be giving to the Houston Public Library and Houston’s Community schools. For details visit: www.houstonlibrary.org or call 832-393-1313.

Building on JetBlue’s signature Soar with Reading literacy program, designed to inspire and encourage kids’ imaginations to take flight through reading, volunteers will be checking at elementary schools impacted by Hurricane Harvey where HPL libraries are still closed. JetBlue volunteers will help operate “Pop Up” libraries, distribute free books and host reading events, alongside partners Simon & Schuster Children’ Publishing at Shadydale Elementary, Kashmere Gardens Elementary and Braeburn Elementary.

Unveiling of a Book Vending Machine which provides FREE books for ages 0-14 will help kids build their own library.
HPL Mobile Express team will host a Pop Up Library along with 22 JetBlue volunteers.
Storytime with free books, backpacks and take-home activities to 534 students.
