PLAY EVERYWHERE TOUR COMES TO HOUSTON

On Saturday, February 24, 2018, the Play Everywhere Tour makes a stop in Houston. This FREE family-friendly all-day event was created to help kids and families learn about and experience the benefits of play through games and fun challenges.  Music and food trucks will also be part of the fun.  Houston is one of four cities the Play Everywhere Tour will visit, along with Atlanta, Dallas and Miami.  It is sponsored by KaBOOM! and Target.

Moody Park was acquired by the City of Houston in 1925 for $18,000. Located north of downtown, it is home to an acclaimed Hispanic Culture Plaza and one of Houston’s most recognizable pieces of civic art, Luis A. Jimenez’s fiberglass masterpiece, “The Vaquero.”

The Houston Parks and Recreation Department (H.P.A.R.D.) stewards and manages over 37,851 acres of parkland and greenspace for the City of Houston and develops and implements recreational programming for citizens of all abilities.
