Houston police are investigating the shooting of a juvenile male at 11600 Haviland about 7:15 p.m. on Saturday (Jan. 13).
The victim, 14, suffered a gunshot wound to the hip and was transported to Texas Children’s Hospital in stable condition.
HPD Major Assaults Unit Detectives A. Turner and D. Williamson reported:
The victim was playing basketball at Haviland Park, at the above address, when a dark-colored vehicle drove into the parking lot. The occupants of the vehicle started shooting at another group of males on the basketball court. The victim was struck as he attempted to run from the gunfire. He was then transported to the hospital by private vehicle.
