Houston police are investigating a fatal auto-pedestrian crash that occurred at 315 Addicks Howell about 10:50 a.m. on August 24.
The identity of the male victim, 79, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Westside Patrol Division officers reported:
The victim was walking in a parking lot at the above address when he was struck by a black Toyota Highlander whose driver was backing out of a parking space.
The victim was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he was pronounced deceased on the following day.
The female driver of the Toyota remained at the scene, was questioned and released.
The investigation is continuing.
