Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 13700 Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45) about 11:45 p.m. on Wednesday (May 30).
The identity of the deceased male victim, 50, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant E. Fendia and Officer B. Roberts reported:
The victim, a pedestrian, was attempting to cross the main lanes of the freeway at the above address when he was struck by a maroon Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck traveling in the northbound lanes. Paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene.
The driver stopped and was questioned. He did not show signs of intoxication, consented to a blood draw and was then released.
