Houston police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash at 12900 Fondren about 9:55 p.m. on Saturday (Jan. 6).
The identity of the deceased female victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Roque and Officer A. Mares reported:
The victim was attempting to cross the street – not at a crosswalk – at the above address when she was struck by the driver of a maroon Nissan Murano whose driver initially stopped and then fled the scene without rendering aid. Witnesses stated the Nissan, with a partial license plate containing the letters JB, was last seen traveling southbound on Fondren. Paramedics transported the female victim to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
