Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 11600 Katy Freeway (West Interstate Highway 10) about 2:40 a.m. on Sunday (June 25).
The identity of the deceased female victim, 19, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Kopulos and Officer G. Anderson reported:
Witnesses stated the victim was driving a white Pontiac GT westbound on the Katy Freeway when she lost control, failed to maintain a single lane and started to spin. The vehicle struck a red Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, continued to spin and was then struck by a white Nissan Maxima.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Silverado was treated at the scene. The driver of the Maxima and a passenger were taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The investigation is continuing.
