Houston police are investigating the death of a child at 5707 South Braeswood Boulevard about 1:10 p.m. on Tuesday (May 16).
The identity of the female child, believed to be 2 to 3 years of age, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officer J. Villareal and Officer W. Huff reported:
HPD patrol officers, along with Houston Fire Department paramedics, responded to a drowning call at the above address and found the girl unresponsive on the grass near a pool in the backyard of the residence. The toddler was transported by HFD to Texas Children's Hospital where she was pronounced deceased.
The investigation is continuing.
